One connection covering Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides. Build decks from any of them. Read-only.
Status
Connected. Google is live today: one OAuth grant covering Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides.
What it does
Connect Google once from Connectors in the app. That single grant covers Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides: they are the same account, so connecting them separately would mean authorizing the same thing four times. After that, when you add a file to Preso you can pick anything from your Google Drive instead of uploading it again. Preso reads the file and writes the deck from it.
Google Docs, Slides and Sheets have no file bytes of their own, so they are exported to text on the way in. They then behave like any other document.
What Preso can see
The connection is read-only. Preso reads the files you pick and nothing else. It cannot edit, move or delete anything in your Google Drive.
Connecting it
- Open Connectors in the app.
- Click Connect on Google Drive.
- Approve the read-only access on Google's screen.
You can connect more than one Google account, and disconnect any of them at any time.
Using it
When you build a deck, choose New file → Google Drive, or add a file to a project the same way. The file is copied into your Files, so it is reusable afterwards without going back to Drive.
Example
Keep the client brief in Drive. When they ask for a deck, pick the brief, say "a 12-slide pitch for this brief, aimed at their CFO", and the deck is written from the brief rather than from a blank page.
